Mumbai - City Congress unit announced the first list of 115 candidates for the BMC elections on Tuesday. This list of candidates includes 19 current corporators, 11 former corporators, 64 Marathi, 18 North Indian, 12 Muslim, 11 Gujarati and Jain, five each from Christian and South Indian and one each from Punjabi and Sindhi communities. Some relatives of Congress leaders have also secured their candidature and they include former minister Chandrakant Handore’s wife Sangita Handore, corporator Sunil More’s wife Supriya More and Pramod Mandrekar’s wife Priti Mandrekar. The second list of Congress party for the BMC polls is likely to be announced on Wednesday.
