Congress raises questions on Cold Play

Nariman Point – The organisers of the ‘Cold Play’ concert have sought State government’s permission for serving wine during the concert. State government should immediately take a stand on this, demanded Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson Sachin Sawant. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Sawant said that ‘Global Citizen India’ has organised the Cold Play concert in the city on 19th November. “The main objective behind organising this concert is stated to be the poverty eradication and inspire youths for social work. The governments of the countries where Global Citizens organised this concert were never the part of this organisation. But the Maharashtra government has partnered with the organisers and has given many concessions to them. Now, they have asked for serving of wine during the event. If it happens, then how would the youths get inspiration,” asked the Congress spokesperson.
