Amravati Shutdown: Internet Services Reinstated, Curfew Partially Lifted

Amravati City Police Commissioner has permitted internet services to be reinstated on Friday, November 19, afternoon, stated reports. Additionally, an order to lift the curfew in Amravati from 9 am to 6 pm.

Arti Singh, the Amravati City Police Commissioner has permitted internet services to be reinstated on Friday, November 19, afternoon, stated reports. Additionally, an order to lift the curfew in Amravati from 9 am to 6 pm has been made.

With this, the curfew will commence again at 6 pm and stay in force till 9 am. Reports were doing rounds on how a decision regarding the lifting of the curfew will be undertaken on Friday.

Amravati has been under a curfew for the last seven days since last Saturday post the eruption of violence during a bandh called by the political party, BJP.

Apart from this, on Thursday, November 18, the curfew was relaxed between 11 am to 5 am, but only for essential services. These included purchasing groceries, vegetables and medicines. Additionally, government services such as banks reopened and government personnel were permitted to visit their workplaces.

On the other hand, reports were doing rounds on how associations of private traders have sustained considerable losses.

Moreover, recently, the respective authorities had arrested nearly 119 people for their alleged involvement in the violence that transpired in Malegaon and Nanded. The violence is claimed to have occurred owing to alleged violence that transpired in Tripura.
