Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Thane and Mumbai, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had invited Manoj Tiwari to campaign for the party candidate contesting the poll. The Delhi BJP chief strongly criticised Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi for his slogan - ‘Chowkidar Chor hai’ - against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While addressing the North Indian voters, Tiwari said that Rahul Gandhi is waiting for the ‘Chowkidar’ to sleep, so they can steal again. The Bhojpuri star told the gathering to vote for Modi saying that there has been a lot of development in Gujarat and the country will also develop if Modi is re-elected to power.

Taking a jibe at Gandhi and his slogan ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’, Tiwari asserted that Rahul Gandhi has insulted North Indians who come away from their home and work dedicatedly as a ‘chowkidar.’ Tiwari appealed to the voters to vote against Rahul Gandhi and his party on April 29.

BJP candidate, and sitting MP from Bhiwandi, Kapil Patil was also present at the event. Tiwari asked the public to elect Patil as their representative for the second time. Patil further said that they are committed to the development of North Indians and projects worth crores are in progress to develop Bhiwandi.
