There is still a lot of ambiguity around the cabinet expansion, exactly one week after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his deputies, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, took their oaths in a pompous event at Azad Maidan.
The state cabinet enlargement is expected to happen on December 14, according to reports, however CM Devendra Fadnavis has not yet provided a definite statement. The date for cabinet enlargement has not yet been determined, he stated. But according to Pawar, who spent two days in Delhi as well, the drill is probably going to take place on December 14.
The winter session of the state legislature will be commencing on December 16 in Nagpur despite the fact that both Fadnavis and Pawar met separately with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, little clarification is expected on the important matter.
Shinde has not yet opened his cards; he chose to stay at his Thane house rather than go on the Delhi tour. According to several media reports, he is adamant about obtaining some important portfolios, including Home and other departments. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the state BJP chief, met with the leader at Thane in an apparent attempt to diffuse the current dispute. Bawankule was probably going to put Shinde in touch with Home Minister Amit Shah in order to end the standoff, even though neither politician had commented on the cabinet problem.
Many incumbent ministers are afraid of being left out because of their poor performance, which has caused worry among prospective candidates within the Mahayuti over the next reshuffle. They say the BJP could receive 20–22 seats, the Shiv Sena 11–12, and the NCP 10. The NCP is expected to maintain planning and finance notwithstanding the housing department's demands. Revenue, housing, and urban development are all priorities for the Shiv Sena.

His party's top leadership and legislative board make decisions. They will use the BJP quota to determine who will be appointed as a minister. The names of their ministers will also be chosen at the NCP and Shiv Sena levels. The formula for expanding the cabinet has already been determined. everyone will learn about it shortly, Fadnavis said.
Fadnavis and Bawankule met with BJP president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to talk about the reshuffle. The party is unwilling to give up important departments like finance, tax, urban development, and the home.
Without Ajit Pawar in charge of the finance position, the cabinet would be lacking. He has done outstanding work in the past and has a plethora of knowledge in this field, said NCP spokesman Amol Mitkari.
In the meantime, CM Fadnavis visited with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, reportedly asking for his approval and direction on how to run the Mahayuti government in the state.
