Devendra Fadnavis: Opposition will support govt in tackling coronavirus

Ever since the Maha Vikas Aghadi has taken charge, it has been at loggerheads with BJP and the former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. However, on Wednesday Fadnavis assured that opposition will cooperate with the state government in tackling the coronavirus disease.

He said, “We all need to take care in view of the coronavirus. But, at the same time, there is a need to ensure there is no panic. The opposition will cooperate with the government in this regard". Fadnavis was addressing the reporters in the Vidhan Bhavan complex and stressed that there is no need to panic and one needs to follow the instructions that are

The BJP leader also expressed the need to tell people that they need not panic over the virus.

In a recent development, two people from Mumbai have tested positive. With these new additions, the total number of people impacted by the novel virus has climbed to 10. These two people were in the same flight as that of the couple from Pune that had tested positive earlier. 

In India so far 60 people have been impacted by COVID-19. There is widespread panic in the air and business are suffering due to the same. There has also been an adverse impact on the travel industry. Many aviation players have cancelled flights to the country. Last week, Qatar Airways had cancelled all operations and today German aviation giant, Lufthansa announced that it will be suspending operations.

The virus started from a small province called Wuhan in China. After almost a month of lockdown, things are getting normal in the city and people would finally resume going to work. Coronavirus has impacted over 100,000 people and claimed 4,000 lives. Apart from China, Italy seems to be the worst impacted country. It has placed almost 16 million people in quarantine and is looking at all measures to curb the impact of this virus.
