Mumbai – Only five independent candidates would enter the house of the BMC as they secured their wins by defeating many giant candidates.

Shiv Sena had given a ticket to sitting corporator Dr Bharati Bawdane from ward no. 123 in Ghatkopar. Sena leader Sudhir More rebelled against this candidature of Bawdane and put his brother’s wife in the fray and on Thursday, Snehal More was declared as the winner from this ward.
From ward no. 160, independent candidate Kiran Landge defeated Congress MLA Rajhans Singh’s son Nitesh and sitting corporator Manali Tulaskar.
Independent candidate Mumtaz Khan defeated former corporator Kavita Rodrigues from ward no. 102. Changez Multani, who was sitting independent corporator, also registered win by defeating Shiv Sena corporator Raju Pednekar. Another independent candidate, Tulshiram Shinde, defeated Sena candidate Sadashiv Patil and made entry into the BMC.
