Despite Bharat Bandh, hike in Petrol and Diesel price continues

Amid nation-wide strike carried out by Congress along with 21 other opposition parties, the hike in petrol and diesel prices remains. Petrol prices have been increased by 23 paise and diesel by 22 paise.

With these new rates in effect, the petrol price in Mumbai has risen to ₹88.12 and diesel price has increased to ₹77.32. Due to the Bharat Bandh, the schools have been closed in Vasai and Virar. However, in Mumbai, the condition of public transport is running smooth.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has also supported Congress call for the Bandh. Thackeray has appealed the people to not damage public property.
