During his visit in Mumbai on January 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to participate in various programmes and also inaugurate several civic projects.

In an official statement, Prime Minister Office’s (PMO) shared that PM Modi will lay foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth INR 38,800 crores in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, the traffic is likely to be hit during his visit as police are expected to impose restrictions.

It is pertinent to note that this is PM Narendra Modi’s first visit to the maximum city after the Eknath Shinde-led government came to power with the help of the BJP and the two parties are expected to put up a show of strength in Mumbai.

Apart from inaugurating the remaining phase of Mumbai metro 2A and 7, here’s the list of projects to be launched by PM Modi:

  • Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of seven sewage treatment plants in Mumbai to prevent the mixing of sewage water into the sea
  • Prime Minister will also launch MUMBAI 1 Mobile App and National Common Mobility Card
  • Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of three hospitals -- 360-bedded Bhandup Multispeciality Municipal Hospital, 306-bedded Siddharth Nagar Hospital, Goregaon (West) and 152-bedded Oshiwara Maternity Home
  • Prime Minister Modi will start the road concretisation project for around 400 Km roads of Mumbai
  • PM will also lay the foundation stone for redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)
  • He will also start the transfer of approved loans of over one lakh beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi Yojana
  • Prime Minister will inaugurate 20 Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Aapla Dawakhana
  • Apart from these, PM Modi is likely to address a public rally at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Party workers are expected to gather at the ground by 1 pm, as the Western Express Highway will be kept closed for security reasons.
