The information regarding the families of women beneficiaries who pay income tax under the state government's ambitious scheme, Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin, has not yet been received. Although the state government sought this information from the Income Tax Department, the department has sent a proposal to the Union Finance Ministry. The information can only be provided after approval from the Centre, according to a report by Loksatta.
The state government had requested the Income Tax Department to provide details of women income tax payers six months ago, but no response has been received so far. Due to this delay, lakhs of ineligible women beneficiaries continue to avail themselves of the scheme's benefits. It has been found that over 2,500 women who are government employees have wrongly received benefits totaling ₹3.58 crore.

Out of 2.63 crore women, 2.52 crore are currently receiving benefits under the scheme. This number is increasing every month. Additionally, the number of women who have married and moved to other states is also rising.
Women from families where a member is a government employee or an income taxpayer will be deemed ineligible. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare has announced that 1.5 crore women under this scheme will not undergo verification, as they hold yellow and saffron ration cards.
