All the parties in Maharashtra have released their lists of candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections. BJP has fielded three candidates. Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena has announced the name of one candidate, Ajit Pawar's NCP has announced one candidate and Congress has announced the name of one candidate. 6 Rajya Sabha seats are becoming vacant in Maharashtra. After the list of candidates of all parties is out, it is now being speculated that the Rajya Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be held unopposed.


Names of BJP candidates

BJP has nominated Ashok Chavan, Medha Kulkarni and Ajit Gopchade from Maharashtra for Rajya Sabha. However, this time BJP has not given tickets to Rajya Sabha MP and Union Minister Narayan Rane. It is being speculated that the party may give him a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections. Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan joined BJP on February 13. After which today he has been nominated for Rajya Sabha. Former Kothrud MLA Medha Kulkarni was denied candidature for the assembly in 2019. However, now BJP has nominated her for Rajya Sabha.

Congress gave chance to Chandrakant Handore

Congress has nominated Chandrakant Handore for Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra. Chandrakant Handore is a well-known Dalit leader from Maharashtra. Chandrakant Damodar Handore is a former Cabinet Minister for Social Justice, Government of Maharashtra. On February 5 2021, Handore was appointed as the working president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.


Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena candidate

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has made Milind Deora, who recently left Congress and joined Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, a Rajya Sabha candidate.


Ajit Pawar faction also announced Rajya Sabha candidature

After Congress and BJP, Ajit Pawar group has also announced its Rajya Sabha candidature. Ajit Pawar faction has nominated Praful Patel to Rajya Sabha. State President of Ajit Pawar faction Sunil Tatkare has given this information while talking to the media.
