While several political parties in Maharashtra are busy preparing for the upcoming state assembly elections, the poll dates may be declared after Ganesh Chaturthi is concluded. The model code of conduct will also be implemented in the state after the same.

Earlier, Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Chandrakant Patil had informed that the state assembly elections will be held in mid-October. While keeping in mind the deployment of the police force during Ganesh Utsav 2019, the state election commission may announce the poll dates after the festival ends.

After the assembly poll dates in Maharashtra are announced, the model code of conduct will restrict the current government to make any new announcement and the entire command of the state will be in the hands of Election Commission.
