Contenders

In Dindoshi assembly constituency, the major battle is between Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). While Shiv Sena has fielded Suresh Prabhu, NCP has given the ticket to Vidya Chavan who is a top leader in the party.

On this seat, a total of 10 candidates are contesting the assembly polls including Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Dilip Tawde, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) Arun Surve, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) candidate Amit Swami among others.

Result in previous polls

In 2009 assembly elections, Rajhans Singh from Congress won on Dindoshi seat while in 2014 Shiv Sena's Sunil Prabhu was elected as an MLA. Currently, Prabhu's chances of winning from this seat have increased as the Shiv Sena and BJP are contesting the assembly polls together.

In 2014, Shiv Sena’s Suresh Prabhu registred 56,577 votes while Congress’ Rajhans Singh managed to get only 36,749 votes followed by BJP’s Mohit Kamboj got 36,169 votes, MNS’ Shamini Thackeray got 14,662 votes and NCP’s Ajit Ravrane only received 8,550 votes.

The Dindoshi assembly constituency has several issues including traffic and illegal construction work. Along with this, the problem of illegal slums and shops in the area also a major concern.
