While praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticised Maha Vikas Aghadi and Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray group. “Some people wanted this program not to be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But no one can change fate. We wanted it, the people of Maharashtra and Mumbai wanted it. That is why the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, is present here today to inaugurate works”, said Eknath Shinde.

Eknath Shinde further said, “In December last year, the game-changer Samriddhi Highway was inaugurated by PM Modi in Nagpur, the vice-capital of the state. Today, in the first month of the year, a glorious ceremony is being held in the state capital, Mumbai. Honourable Balasaheb Thackeray and Prime Minister Narendra Modiji had a close relationship. Both Hindutva and Hindutva pride were the foundation of thought. Welcoming the Prime Minister on behalf of Mumbaikars, I thank him for honouring our invitation.”

“How much did the state develop during the MVA government? Everyone knows it. It is only because of Mr. Modi's leadership that we got the opportunity to promote stalled works, we could speed up public works and rescue Mumbaikars who suffocate in traffic. There is something about his personality that energises us. Today's day should be written in golden letters.”

We are building 400 km of concrete roads in Mumbai and PM Mod will perform Bhumipujan of the same. Taking a dig at Uddhav Thackeray and the MVA government, Shinde said as they are building roads, it is not going down well with others. In next 2.5 years, Mumbai will have pothole free roads, he added. Elaborating on pothole free roads and hinting at the opposition he said, some will try to stall the work but Mumbai will have good roads.
