After the Supreme Court’s verdict to transfer the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tried to corner the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) asking for clarification on who it was trying to save from the investigation.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the Bihar government’s order to transfer the SSR death case to CBI. The bench found no fault in the FIR registered in Bihar against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family members.

The court said that Bihar Police had jurisdiction to register FIR at the complaint of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father. A single bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy held the transfer of the case to CBI valid.

As this happened, the BJP has launched an attack on the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra and has also raised questions over the credibility of Mumbai Police in the SSR death case investigation.

BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain accused the Maharashtra government of stalling the investigation in the SSR death case. Reacting to the SC’s order, he expressed that the truth will come out. Hussain further said that the Uddhav Thackeray government will have to co-operate with the CBI.

“Sushant Singh Rajput fans were waiting for this decision. This decision by the Supreme Court is the first step in the process of getting justice for Sushant. Now, the Maharashtra government will also have to co-operate with the CBI in the investigation,” the BJP leader said.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has demanded the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. He also said that Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh also owes an explanation for not registering an FIR in the SSR death case for two months.
