The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, which have been stalled for the last two and a half years, are likely to be held in September and October. The State Election Commission has issued the gazette. This gazette is about preparation of voter lists for assembly elections for local self government elections. It is clearly written in the gazette that the elections will be held between September 2023 and October 2023. Meanwhile, there is a possibility that these elections will be held without OBC reservation. The opposition alleges that the government is avoiding the local body elections.

This has been clearly mentioned in the Election Commission's gazette. The tenure of 11 municipalities of the state, including Mumbai-Pune, ended on March 15 last year.
