After a banner was raised which named Congress MLA Aslam Sheikh along with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena leaders, the speculations of him joining Sena has intensified. The banner was put up by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Baldev Manku alias Billaji in Malad to offer greetings on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
According to sources, Aslam Sheikh, who is currently an elected Congress MP from Malad had a meeting with the Shiv Sena top leaders which sparked the speculation of him joining Sena. However, no official announcement has been made regarding this.
Aslam Sheikh is a face of Congress in Malad West and earlier, during the Maharashtra assembly polls, Sheikh managed to defeat BJP’s Ram Barot by 1300 votes. The internal sources informed that Sheikh’s induction in Sena is stalled due to the ongoing seat-sharing conflict between BJP and Shiv Sena.
