Maratha bike rally: Traffic affects normal life

Mumbai – Due to the Maratha bike rally, traffic jams affected the normal life in the city on Sunday morning. The rally which was scheduled to be started at 9 am was actually kicked off at 10:30 am from Somaiya Ground in Sion. At the start of the rally, the victim of Kopardi rape case and the martyr soldiers were paid tributes and silence of two minutes was observed. The traffic moving towards Dadar, East to West moving traffic in Lower Parel was stopped for the time being though the traffic was already diverted. Meanwhile, organizers claimed that around 30,000 - 40,000 bikers participated in the rally that allegedly affected the routine works of local residents.
