Wadala- Maratha Kranti Muk Morcha Sanghatna was planning to carry out a morcha on 31st January but they postponed their plan owing to the forthcoming BMC elections. This decision was taken during a state-level meeting which took place on 15th January 2017 at Wadala’s Bhartiya Krida temple.
For the meeting, leaders from 28 zillas had participated where each of them expressed their views. Out of 28 zillas, 26 zilla leaders were of the view that morcha should be carried out on 23rd March 2017 and chakka jam should be done on 31st January 2017 in Maharashtra. Though Latur and Aurangabad gave thumbs up to chakka jam, they were negative about the protest. They were of the view that protest should be scheduled on 6th March 2017. However, post discussion, Maratha Kranti Muk Morcha Sanghatna decided to stage a protest on 23rd March 2017.
