After former Union Minister Milind Deora resigned from his position as Mumbai Congress President, the crisis for the leadership is underway. However, the political speculations suggest that Deora might be appointed as party’s Mumbai unit chief yet again along with two working presidents. 

Amid the leadership crisis on national and state level in Maharashtra after Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Chavan resigned, Deora also submitted his resigned from his position while taking responsibility for the massive loss in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. 

Recently, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat was appointed as party’s Maharashtra unit President. Along with this, five other leaders were appointed as working Presidents at the state level. However, the Mumbai Congress President post is still vacant.

The appointment for Mumbai Congress President will be carried out in the coming two days, sources informed, adding that Milind Deora might be appointed for the same position again. Furthermore, the speculations are being made that Hussain Dalvi and Eknath Gaikwad might be appointed as working Presidents for Mumbai Congress.
