Andheri – Nine out of 13 seats in K-West ward are reserved for women candidates in the BMC elections. Remaining four includes one for OBC and three for General category men. There is a very strong race going on to grab candidature on these places. There seems undeclared war in the BJP for candidature in Ward No. 68.

Andheri MLA Amit Satam is reportedly taking efforts to get this seat for his brother-in-law Rohan Rathod while Versova MLA Dr Bharati Lavhekar has also staked the claim for this seat for her Personal Assistant Yogiraj Dabodekar.

As senior leaders are trying to grab seats for their near and dear ones, the loyal party activists are not happy with this. When asked to Kamlesh Sharma, president of Versova assembly segment, he said that MLA Amit Satam was PA of Gopinath Munde while Ram Kadam was PA of Pramod Mahajan. “I cannot stop the senior party leaders,” he added.
