After Raj Thackeray declared that his the party will contest 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) released its first list of 27 candidates for the assembly elections in the state which are scheduled on October 21.

Of the 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra, MNS intends to field its candidates on 125 or more seats. As per political analysts, MNS' entry in the polls can affect Shiv Sena's vote bank paving some trouble for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena alliance.

All other parties including ruling and opposition have released their list of candidates for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. The so-called "alternate opposition" – Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) – have also declared their candidates.

Now, the MNS has also announced its list. However, there has been no official announcement regarding their alliance with any party. MNS may contest the assembly polls in Maharashtra alone.
