BMC Elections 2026: Here's how to check your name in the voter list and find out your polling booth location

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are scheduled to be held on January 15. The electoral contest in Mumbai will be for 227 seats. Due to reservation-related issues, which were challenged in the Supreme Court, the elections were postponed from 2022 to 2026.

To be eligible to vote in the BMC elections, a person must be an Indian citizen, 18 years of age or older. The resident must live within the boundaries of the relevant electoral ward in Mumbai and their name must be on the voter list for that ward.

To check your name in the voter list for the upcoming municipal corporation elections, visit https://mahasecvoterlist.in/ObjectionOnClick/SearchVoterName and follow these steps:

• After visiting the website, select the "Municipal Corporation" option under "Select local body".
• In the "Select District" option, enter the name of your local municipal corporation, such as Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, etc.
• In the "Select Local Body Name" option, enter the name of your municipal corporation electoral area, such as Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation, etc.
• Then, enter your full name in the "Full Name" option.
• After completing this process, click on "Search".

You can also search for your name using your EPIC (Voter ID) number.
