There is confusion in the minds of the people about the new government in the state and the feeling that this government is not of their opinion has become strong in the state. This is the feeling not only in Markadwadi but in every village of the state. There is a demand from the people to vote on the ballot paper and Gram Sabhas are passing such resolutions. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole has demanded that the Election Commission and the Hon'ble Supreme Court should take note of this public sentiment.

Speaking to the media in the legislature area, Congress state president Nana Patole said that if the voters have doubts about whether my vote goes to the candidate I have given, they should be satisfied. The people of Markadwadi had decided to conduct mock polling to vote on ballot paper but the government with the help of Election Commission, Police Administration, forced them, filed cases against them. The Election Commission has to answer how 76 lakh votes increased, but they are not giving a satisfactory answer. Stealing votes is the broad daylight murder of democracy. If this kind of discontent has arisen in a democracy, it has to be addressed. As an opposition party, we will fight for this demand of the people in the hall and on the streets, Patole said.

The government should follow the tradition of the Legislature

It is a tradition of the Maharashtra legislature to give the post of Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha unopposed and the post of Vice-President to the opposition party. The Aam Aadmi Party gave BJP the post of Leader of the Opposition despite the BJP having only three members in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. MVA’s delegation met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and discussed giving the post of Leader of Opposition to Mahavikas Aghadi. It is expected that the government will think positively about it, said Nana Patole.
