Nariman Point - In the Mahabharat, Dhananjay aka Arjun was helped by Narayan aka Krishna. But in modern Maharashtra politics, Narayan is about to replace Dhananjay. In the Vidhan Parishad, the Congress is likely to push for the Opposition leader post which is currently with NCP's Dhananjay Munde. Narayan Rane is believed to be Congress' prospective candidate. Congress needs to spruce up its action in the assembly and Narayan Rane seems most suitable with his aggressive approach and a keen study of the current political situation. He has experience on his side too as he had been opposition leader in the Vidhan Sabha earlier. Before the winter session starts on 5 December, the Congress is likely put its claim for this post. It won't be an easy task for Rane however as the NCP won't be lying low and is likely to give a tough fight to retain the post of leader of opposition in the Vidhan Parishad.
