Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has demanded Bharat Ratna for party chief Sharad Pawar. The party workers in Thane started a signature campaigning demanding Bharat Ratna for Sharad Pawar.
Pawar has served as the former Union Agriculture Minister and Chief Minister of Maharashtra multiple times. The signature campaign demanding Bharat Ratna for Sharad Pawar has been started under the leadership of NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad.
We demand that Sharad Pawar should be given Bharat Ratna and we have taken nearly 10,000 signature in three hours. We have installed a poster outside Thane railway station,” an NCP worker claimed.
The NCP workers have been asking people about their opinion on the demand while requesting those in agreement to sign.

After the whole episode of government formation in Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar is being regarded as the ‘Chanakya’ of politics. NCP leaders have credited Sharad Pawar for their party’s return to power in the state.
