Mumbai - The Nationalist Congress Party had shown readiness to form an alliance with the Congress party for forthcoming BMC elections but Congress did not respond to it. We are still ready to fight these elections in alliance with the Congress, said NCP state president Sunil Tatkare on Tuesday. City Congress president Sanjay Nirupam has already made it clear that Congress party will not form an alliance with the NCP for the BMC elections. Meanwhile, Tatkare also said that Congress party considers itself as a big brother and the party should make its stand clear on this proposed alliance. On Tuesday, 10 corporators from Akola municipal corporation joined the NCP just ahead of the civic polls. They include 6 from Congress, 1 each from UDF, Bharip and an independent in the presence of leader of opposition in Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde and Tatkare.
