Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said that the party will not induct senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal while putting an end to the speculations regarding the senior leader joining the ruling party in Maharashtra.

Earlier, the media report were doing rounds on the speculations which suggested that Chhagan Bhujbal might join Shiv Sena ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections which are scheduled in mid-October this year.

Raut has, for the first time, openly commented on the speculations regarding Bhujbal joining Shiv Sena saying that several leaders in the party have already opposed the entry of senior NCP leader. In its initial years, Bhujbal was one of the main leaders in Shiv Sena.

Earlier, NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule’s remarks also sparked speculations of Bhujbal intentions to quit the party. However, in July, Bhujbal had denied such claims.

Many opposition leaders from NCP and Congress have either joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Shiv Sena creating trouble for the opposition in Maharashtra ahead of the polls. Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah in Solapur said that no one will be left in the opposition if BJP leaves its door open.
