Mumbai- Though BJP- Shiv Sena are at loggerheads, BJP’s PWD minister Chandrakant Patil and Education minister Vinod Tawade were successful in convincing Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray to be present for the bhumi poojan of the proposed Shivaji statue.
Both the leaders met Uddhav at Matoshree and extended the formal invitation for the bhumi poojan. When Patil was asked about the animosity between the parties, he clarified, “We never had differences. Uddhav had agreed to come for the ceremony but the invitation cards were published yesterday, so, we came today to invite him. He will be present on 24 December for the foundation stone laying ceremony where he will accompany the prime minister."
