Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Leader of opposition in the State Legislative Assembly, on Monday credited the Congress party for the passing of the GST Bill in the State Legislature.
Reacting to the unanimous passing of the GST Bill, Vikhe Patil said that when GST Bill was presented by the Congress-led UPA government had first presented this bill in the Parliament and the then chief minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi, had opposed this bill. Today, Modi’s government at the Centre has got this bill passed and hence the implementation of GST in the country is the achievement of the Congress party, he pointed out.
It was sad that the State government did not announce loan waiver for farmers in this special assembly session held to pass the GST Bill. The opposition parties will continue to fight for loan waiver. The Sangharsh Yatra of the opposition parties has succeeded in pressurizing the government and we will aggressively take it further, said Vikhe Patil.
