Relatives ask for jobs on compassionate grounds

People awaiting jobs on compassionate grounds carried out a protest at Azad Maidan on Wednesday. As per the Maharashtra government, many of the relatives who lost their loved ones on duty have not got the jobs on compassionate grounds.

People who are protesting demanded that people should be given jobs as they have been waiting for the last five years.  As per the decision made by the government on 23 April 2008, people who have been waiting for jobs prior 2005, 50% of them should get jobs in the first year, 25% of them in the second year, and remaining 25% in the third year.

Protestors added that the many people have been waiting for jobs since 2006 and many of them have lost the legibility due to age.
