Girgaon - Residents of Girgaon’s Sikka Nagar claim they are tired of the growing encroachments at ward no 215.

Pedestrians say they find it difficult to walk on the footpaths due to the illegal hawkers that line the pavements. “We have made several complaints to the ward office but nothing has been done. We don't just face a problem of these illegal hawkers, but the whole footpath stinks as well,” said Surendra Bagalkar, a resident.

Shiv Sena candidate Minal Juvatkar has obviously smelled an opportunity in this mess and has taken up cudgels on the resients' behalf. She has assured the residents that she will get the footpath cleared of all encroachments, provided she wins the civic election.
