The state government has come out with 21 guidelines with regards of erecting statues and memorials of noted personalities. And according to the guidelines, if any group wants to erect the statue or a memorial of a noted personality then the group should seek NOC from minority community and residents. However, this decision has not gone well with the right wing groups who have decided to stage a protest against the same.
Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, right wing group party has decided to protest. “The state government came out with a circular of removing photos of gods from the government offices but will the same government order to seek permission before placing loudspeakers on mosques?” said Ramesh Shinde, spokesperson, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti. However, it seems that the state government might withdraw the circular owing to the protest.
