CST - The Republican Party of India (RPI-A) has announced an alliance with the BJP for the municipal corporation and Zilla Parishad elections across the state. A meeting in this regard was held between RPI-A president and Union minister Ramdas Athawale and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday night. These leaders instructed their respective party office-bearers to start the process for RPI-BJP alliance for the election of 10 municipal corporations and some Zilla Parishads in the state. We will demand more than 29 seats as we had received these much seats last time, said RPI’s state president Bhupesh Thulkar. Meanwhile, a faction of the RPI led by Kakasaheb Khambalkar was merged with the RPI-A and Khambalkar has been made national vice-president, informed Thulkar.
