Bandra - Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu made a very important announcement at a programme at Bandra Terminus on Sunday.
Prabhu proposed a development plan for local trains worth Rs 40,000 crore. The scheme entails many objectives that include -
1. High Speed WiFi
2. New Platforms
3. New installed escalators
4. Foot over Bridges
5. Recreation Facilities
He inaugurated new escalators on Western Railway platforms which include Dadar, Vasai Road and Bhayander. High-speed Wi-Fi has been installed at various stations including Borivali, Andheri, Vashi, Belapur, Kurla, CST, Byculla, Panvel and Thane. The local trains will have more coaches. A new 15 coach local train will start from 19 December. Santa Prabhu had one more special gift for the North Indians, a new train will run from Bandra towards Gorakhpur soon.
