Sena fumes - In the dark over lights?
Mumbai – The civic administration has kept the ruling party, Shiv Sena, in dark on the issue of beautification and electrification at many places on city’s coastline. As per the allegations leveled by BMC standing committee chairman, Yashodhar Phanse, a proposal was made by the civic administration to install street lights only in areas represented by the BJP corporators. This enraged Phanse who has asked for action against the civic officer who removed the name of Versova from the original proposal for installation of 100 street lights at beaches between Juhu and Versova. It is to be mentioned here that this proposal was put up in the standing committee meeting after municipal commissioner had issued directions in this regard.
