The internal bickering in the Shiv Sena has been steadily coming to fore in the BMC. In the last meeting of the standing committee, Sena corporators Mangesh Satamkar and Ashish Chemburkar had expressed their displeasure on the working style of the committee chairman. This time, the understanding between Yashwant Jadhav, leader of the House, and Ramesh Korgaonkar, chairman of the standing committee, failed in Tuesday’s meeting that resulted into adjournment.

According to information, Congress corporator and leader of the opposition, Ravi Raja, had planned to give a notice of the adjournment to protest against incomplete work of nullah cleaning and no entry to city Congress president Sanjay Nirupam in the emergency management cell of the BMC. To counter the Congress plan, the Sena leaders had chalked out a pre-meeting strategy in the cabin of standing committee chairman Ramesh Korgaonkar. BJP group leader Manoj Kotak also supported the Sena move to counter attack the Congress in the standing committee meeting. When the time came, Yashwant Jadhav did not oppose the Congress notice but only expressed his views. If he had opposed the Congress notice for adjournment, it would have been cancelled. As Jadhav changed his mind at the last moment, the ruling party had to accept the Congress proposal for adjournment.

Soon after the meeting, Jadhav and other Sena corporators reached Korgaonkar’s cabin where all bombarded Jadhav on his stand. This enraged Jadhav who asked Korgaonkar why he didn’t speak against the Congress proposal. This scene further aggravated and high decibel verbal fight between Sena leaders started entertaining the audience present outside this cabin. This verbal spat between senior party leaders in the BMC forced other Sena corporators to leave Korgaonkar’s cabin.

Interestingly, Jadhav left Korgaonkar’s cabin to return after a while. This time, both the Sena leaders had their lunch together.
