Worli - The local unit of the Shiv Sena decided to give philanthropy a twist this year. Party workers distributed ingredients of sweet dishes made specially during Diwali, to Gopal Nagar and Bavan Chawl residents. One kilogram each of refined flour, sugar and semolina were distributed to 2000 residents to help them prepare Diwali delicacies. Shiv Sena worker Hiru Das said, "Due to inflation, people are not able to purchase these provisions easily. Hence, instead of the rangoli and lamps distributed traditionally, we decided to give out these essentials." Sweet gesture indeed.
