Mumbai – The results of eight prabhag committees of the BMC were announced on Wednesday and the BJP won four of these committees followed by ruling Shiv Sena which has bagged three committees and the MNS bagged chairmanship of one committee.
The opposition members had filed their nomination papers for these elections in prabhag K and L. In remaining six prabhags, no opposition candidates had filed their nominations and hence chairpersons of these six prabhags were to be declared unopposed. Congress corporator Sushma Kamlesh Yadav withdrew her nomination from K-East prabhag which cleared the way for election of BJP’s Ujwala Modak.
