Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday invited party leaders and MPs for a meeting at Matoshree. Several speculations are being generated that important decision regarding Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance can be taken in the meeting. 

Meanwhile, Maharashtra BJP core committee has also planned to carry out a meeting in Jalna. The decision regarding alliance can come out of this meeting.

Despite Shiv Sena denying to form an alliance with its current ally in Maharashtra, BJP leaders and top office bearers have tried to lure the regional party into the same ahead of the upcoming polls. Earlier on October 19, Uddhav Thackeray had announced that Shiv Sena will not contest elections in alliance with BJP.

Later, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had also clarified that there is no chance that the regional party will ally with the BJP. Reacting to the criticism from Shiv Sena, BJP president Amit Shah had informed the party workers and leaders in the state to not bother about forming an alliance with Shiv Sena.
