The prophecy of both Shiv Sena (SS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fights will continue post Palghar bypoll elections despite BJP’s victory. When Gavit won the elections, SS MP Sanjay Raut commented that it is not Gavit’s victory but state election commission’s victory.

SS has alleged that there is a huge difference in counting and there are loopholes. So, the former filed a complaint with State Election Commission asking them to declare the results.

On Thursday, BJP won the elections and maintain its position intact in Palghar. BJP Rajendra Gavit won the Palghar bypoll elections by defeating Srinivas Wanga by 29,574 votes.

It is being said Shiv Sena was wanting to win the elections and fielded their candidate for the first time in bypoll elections. But the party was disappointed after the defeat. Along with this, the division of votes and shutting down of EVM machines were also considered the reasons for their defeat. Post Gavit’s won, SS president Uddhav Thackeray, Subhash Desai and Sanjay Raut chaired a meeting.
