In order to show the strength of Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance in Maharashtra, BJP President Amit Shah has invited Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as the former will file his nomination from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency on March 30.
Thackeray has accepted the invitation and will accompany Shah during his nomination. Shah is contesting Lok Sabha polls for the first time replacing LK Advani from the Gandhinagar seat. The Shiv Sena and BJP alliance was possible due to the efforts of Amit Shah.

This meeting can also resolve the ongoing tension between Shiv Sena and BJP over naming the candidate for Mumbai North-East LS constituency. While forming the alliance, Shiv Sena had clarified that if sitting BJP MP Kirit Somaiya is given a ticket, the Sena would work against him.
