The state government is taking steps to make the Maharashtra Bhavan, which has been stalled since 2014, a reality and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has waived the Goods and Services Tax (GST) of INR 90 lakhs. It has also been suggested that Maharashtra Bhavan should be constructed by CIDCO. Belapur MLA Manda Mhatre informed in a press conference that this decision has been taken in the meeting held with the Chief Minister on Thursday.

There are many state buildings in Maharashtra and when you come to Mumbai, all the common people of those states are provided with facilities. In Navi Mumbai, the buildings of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala etc. are standing in the limelight. But there is no Maharashtra Bhavan. Therefore, after demand from many levels, in 2014, CIDCO reserved a plot of about 8 thousand square metres near Vashi station in Sector 30A for Maharashtra Bhavan. But there was not much movement after that.
