Mumbai - The issue of transparency was responsible for breaking off the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in the BMC. Though chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and city BJP chief Ashish Shelar are saying that transparency in BMC functioning was responsible for break up of these old allies, the Central government run by their party has given a top position to the BMC as far as transparency is concerned.
The Central government conducted an ‘Economic Survey’ in 21 municipal corporations across the country. The municipal corporations of Mumbai and Hyderabad were given top position in the category of transparent administration in this survey. The BJP had targeted Shiv Sena on this issue and now, the BJP leaders have fallen flat on their face after their government at the centre has certified the BMC on transparency.
Meanwhile, ruling party leader in the BMC, Trishna Vishwasrao, and standing committee chairman, Yashodhar Phanse, have congratulated BMC chief Ajoy Mehta on getting the first position in the transparent administration.
