Mumbai - Taking a cue and lead from chief minister Devendra Fadnavis who has advocated for transparent governance in the municipal corporation, his party, BJP, has started work on its ‘transparent manifesto’ for the BMC elections. The manifesto committee of the party met here on Friday to decide party’s vision for the BMC election.
The party has formed various committees under the chairmanship of city BJP chief Ashish Shelar. Manifesto committee members including MLAs Yogesh Sagar and Parag Alvani, party’s group leader in the BMC Manoj Kotak, BJP vice-president Bhalchandra Shirsat, general secretary Sumant Ghaisas, former MLA Atul Shah, former corporator Sunil Ganacharya and Samir Desai met Friday at Vasant Smruti office at Dadar. MLA Ashish Shelar said that the BJP will highlight the issue of transparency in the functioning of the BMC. It will be one of the main election planks of the BJP. The final draft of this manifesto will be released after getting reviews on this from the common people. The party has decided to invite views of citizens to know their expectations from the party.
