BJP wins 4 prabhags samitis, Sena 3

Mumbai – The results of election for eight prabhag samitis of the BMC were declared on Tuesday and the BJP emerged victorious in four of these eight posts. One BJP-backed corporator of Akhil Bharatiya Sena also bagged the committee while Shiv Sena could win only in three prabhags.

The election of prabhag samitis excluding A, B and E ward committee was held unopposed as no rival candidates had filed nominations in these elections. The winners were declared officially on Tuesday. Geeta Gawli of ABS and Javed Juneja of Congress had filed their nominations for A, B and E ward committee. As Gawli bagged more votes, deputy mayor and election officer Hemangi Worlikar declared her as the winner.

A, B & E prabhag: Geeta Gawli (ABS)

C & D prabhag: Jyotsna Mehta (BJP)

F-South & F-North prabhag: Pralhad Thombare (Shiv Sena)

G-South prabhag: Ashish Chemburkar (Shiv Sena)

P-North prabhag: Daksha Patel (BJP)

P-South prabhag: Rajul Desai (Shiv Sena)

R-North prabhag: Kamlesh Yadav (BJP)

R-South/Central prabhag: Sheetal Mhatre (Shiv Sena)
