On Thursday, February 24, while campaigning for the Shiv Sena in Uttar Pradesh’s Dumriyaganj constituency, the Maharashtra cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray commented on the BJP-led Centre, highlighted reports.

According to accounts, he stated that whenever elections are approaching, the central agencies commence “playing tricks” against rival leaders. Thackeray’s statement comes in the aftermath of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arresting NCP leader Nawab Malik.

Malik has been nabbed owing to his alleged link to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Thackeray uttered that the Shiv Sena feel sad that they were a “part of the BJP-led government in the past”.

He went on to hit out at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh CM and remarked that he was proud that the Maharashtra Chief Minister fund was utilized to send migrant workers back home during the COVID-19 lockdown

Junior Thackeray also reportedly said that after the polls are finished, Yogi Adityanath will become the former chief minister.

In other developments, on Friday, February 25, the Income Tax Department conducted searches at Shiv Sena corporator and Standing Committee Chairperson of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Yashwant Jadhav's premises, highlighted reports.

A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) also arrived at Jadhav's residence in Mumbai. Moreover, the Income Tax dept conducted a raid at his second residence in Mumbai.
