Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) supremo Dr. Prakash Ambedkar on Tuesday said that he will wait till August 31 for Congress’ response regarding the seat offer for alliance in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

While talking to the media during a press conference, Prakash Ambedkar informed that VBA will only wait till August 31 for Congress’ response.

If Congress doesn’t respond, we will clarify our role for future actions. Congress doesn’t have candidates to field on more than 80 seats and yet, we are willing to give 144 assembly seats,” Ambedkar added.

Earlier, Prakash Ambedkar-led VBA had offered Congress 144 assembly seats after its previous offer of providing only 44 seats in Maharashtra was not taken seriously by the main opposition party.

Moreover, Ambedkar informed that the talks with All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are underway while expressing hope that the alliance between VBA-AIMIM will be a reality ahead of the Maharashtra assembly polls.

Ambedkar further said that the OBC community should get a reservation in job promotion. Along with this, the VBA chief informed that if they are voted to power, they will create separate education budget for the OBC community.
