Benchmark indices ended near day’s high with Nifty closing above 15,700, Sensex rising more than 300 points led by Real Estate and PSU Stocks.
At close, the Sensex was up 358.83 points or 0.69 per cent at 52,300.47 and the Nifty was up 102.40 points or 0.65 per cent at 15,737.80.
About 2254 shares have advanced, 699 shares declined and 116 shares are unchanged.
On the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Finance (7.26 per cent), Bajaj Finserv (3.76 per cent), SBI (2.56 per cent), Divi’s Labs (2.45 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (2.07 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while ITC (-1.51 per cent), Bajaj Auto (-1.06 per cent), Eicher Motors (-0.88 per cent), UPL (-0.81 per cent) and Adani Ports (-0.69 per cent) were the top losers for the day.
On the sectoral front, except Nifty Auto (-0.11 per cent) all the other sectoral indices ended in green. Nifty Realty (3.34 per cent), Nifty PSU Bank (2.40 per cent) and Nifty Pharma (1.38 per cent) were the top performing sectors for the day.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 1.26 per cent and 1.73 per cent respectively.
Author’s View: Nifty has reclaimed 15,700 level which is positive sign. The trend continues to remain positive. Nifty might head towards 15850 – 15,900 level.
