Nifty Ends Near 15,200, Sensex Jumps More Than 100 Points

The benchmark indices ended higher post a highly volatile session. Nifty ends near 15,200 and the Sensex jumps more than 100 points.

At close, the Sensex was up 111.42 points or 0.22 per cent at 50,651.90 and the Nifty was up 22.40 points or 0.15 per cent at 15,197.70. About 1930 shares have advanced, 1218 shares declined and 161 shares remain unchanged.

On the Nifty 50 index, IOC (4.94 per cent), SBI (2.70 per cent), BPCL (2.56 per cent), Larsen (1.78 per cent) and Axis Bank (1.40 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while Shree Cement (-2.58 per cent), JSW Steel (-2.40 per cent), Tata Steel (-1.90 per cent), Britannia (-1.65 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products (-1.48 per cent) were the top losers for the day.

On the sectoral front, except Nifty Metal (-0.60 per cent) and Nifty FMCG (-0.34 per cent) all the sectoral indices ended in green.

The BSE midcap & smallcap indices rose 0.69 per cent and 0.85 per cent.

Author’s View: Going forward index has good support zone around 15,100 – 15,000 mark and any dip around said level will be again buying opportunity, with keeping overall stop out level below 15,000 mark, immediate resistance is placed at 15,250 – 15,330 zone and around these level we may see some profit booking.
